Media Language.

19th September - Lessons 3 + 4 .

We were looking at media language and had to research the definitions of these terms :

Disciplined Creativity - This is not getting distracted when you have a task to do, keeping focused, turning off electrical distractions, ie phones, Facebook, TV.

Micro - All the little things that make up a scene.

Macro - The complete product, finished article.

Mise En Scene - What's in the scene.

Denotation - Exactly what's happening in the scene.

Connotation - Implied meaning.

Diegesis - A moving image media text creates meaning for the audience through the combination of diegetic and non - diegetic material, and particularly sound.

180 Degree Rule - When elements in film should have a left or right relationship that never breaks the relationship shown on camera.

Match On Action - Where the perspective of the camera changes during a scene and the scene continues to flow.
